HOW TO REACH THE CYCLADES
There is a small airport situated 9km from the main town which caters to domestic flights to and from Athens run by Olympic Airlines on a daily basis. Regular public buses and taxis connect the airport with Paroikia town. As there are no international flight connections, nor any charter flights to Paros, travellers usually fly to Mykonos or Athens and then take a ferry to Paros. During the summer season, there is a frequent connection of ferries / hydrofoils and catamarans, between Piraeus or Lavrion port in Athens and Paros (about 4-5 hours).
From the port of Piraeus you can take both fast hydrofoils and ferries even with the transport of cars to reach the island of Paros. It takes about 3h and a half or 5 hours depending on the ship and the cost is around 35 euros. The companies that make this route are the Hellenic Seaway, Paros Jet and Blue Star Ferries. Here some info on how to reach the port of Piraeus from Athens Airport.There are also ships leaving from the port of Rafina.You can also reach Paros by boat from the nearby Santorni and Mykonos with ships that take about 3 and a half hours from Santorini and 1h and 20 minutes from Mykonos. Blue Star Ferries makes this type of connection. Prices are around 18/20 euros each way depending on your choice. You can also get from Naxos by ferry and the route has a duration of 45 minutes with ferries always of Blue Star Ferries.
